Juno Beach

Discover Juno Beach and follow the steps of the Canadians

21 400 Canadian soldiers walked on the beach of Juno Beach on June 6th, 1944. Recruited on a voluntary basis, the Canadians were a half-million to be sent until autumn, 1944 on the French ground. A little more than 20 % of them was French-speaking, mainly native of Quebec. One thousand died for the only D-day, on Juno.

The contribution of the Canadians to the liberation of France was considerable.
